NOTHING IS MISSING
"Nothing Is Missing" is a post-rock/ambient album inspired by my Buddhist practice. The titles of the pieces, with the exception of the title track, were taken from the poem "Flowers" in Roshi Phillip Kapleau's book "Straight to the Heart of Zen."
Musically, the album combines influences and textures from post-rock, ambient, new age, progressive rock, and kosmische music. There may something of interest to be found by listeners of acts like Sigur Rós, Hammock, Constance Demby, Harold Budd, The Church, Helios, Stars of the Lid, Ashra, Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, and Pink Floyd.
The aim of this music is to illustrate through sound that no matter how turbulent the times become and how hopeless life seems, underneath all the turmoil and tragedy — everything is actually all right. All is as it should be.
This album is also available on CD via Custom Made Music and on Bandcamp, as well as Spotify, etc.
"From Nowhere You Came" is an ambient remix of the Twilight Fields song "Endura" (twilightfields.bandcamp.com/track/endura)
released June 27, 2018
"Once when the World-Honoured One, in ancient times, was upon Mount Grdhrakuta, he held up a flower before the congregation of monks. At this time all were silent, but the Venerable Kasyapa only smiled.
The World-Honoured One said, “I have the Eye of the True Law, the secret Essence of Nirvana, the Formless Form, the Mysterious Law-Gate. Without relying upon words and letters, beyond all teaching as a special transmission, I pass all this on to Mahakasyapa."

REVIEWS:
"…the project comes in from the cold and will see the release of the radiant new album Nothing Is Missing which dwells in decidedly warmer climes where the sun shines brightly and life is in full bloom … heard in the form of multi-octave layered vocals and the incandescent fuzz tones of the lead guitars on the album’s most transcendent tracks (“Sitting in Silence, Dancing in Gratitude”, “Trees and Grass Speak, the Land Sings”). As the album closes with Allister singing “You Are Free” that is exactly how the listener should feel."
— Stationary Travels
"...the guitar seems to speak on behalf of the songs where vocals otherwise might. It's calming, relaxing and as the name implies (or should to you) it is excellent for meditation … The songs just really seem to build. If I could review this by creating art as I listened to it, painting for example, you would see a lot of hills, lines which start on the bottom and work their way up. The tenth song should be used for future reference by really anyone who wants to as an example of what an ambient song should be."
— Raised by Gypsies
"Allister’s lyrics are wholesome, plaintive and uplifting, shining bright as he sings of our bodily connections with nature and our metaphysical state upon realization of these fundamental natural links that we all share."

LYRICS to "You Are Free"
Now you are free
All this is yours,
the skies, the land the stars
Now you are free
Nothing will hold you
No more cares, no more tears
Now you are free
You are the light and very air
You live and breathe
Now you are free
All this is you,
The trees, the wind, the clouds
Now you are free
Nothing to haunt you,
No more sadness, no more fear
Now you are free
You are the light and the very air
You live and breathe
Now you are free
Though we're parted
I'll see you again, somewhere in time
